用cwm发现桌面进入先停顿几秒才正常，经测试受LC_CTYPE=zh_CN.UTF-8影响，其他桌面不知是否会这样。
现改为LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8，4.8以后支持utf8，xterm显示中文正常，还可以设置LC_MESSAGES=zh_CN.UTF-8应用程序提示信息语言设为中文。

我在NetBSD的当前版下也有此现象。

原来如此阿！难怪我单独设置 LC_CTYPE 或 LANG，FVWM启动都会停顿数秒。现已按照 lionux超版 的方法设置了:)

但我的不管是4。9还是snapshots版，LC_CTYPE如果设成en_US.UTF-8的话调不出scim输入法。

我现在是amd64 5.0的current,(8/25/11）下，不用设置LC_CTYPE, 直接CTRL+space后输入法就出来了。而且进入系统进入xfce4的速度快了很多，firefox6的启动速度也很快，连wqy都没有安装，系统的默认中文字体已经调整的很好了。

刚又试了一遍，不设LC_CTYPE，只设LC_MESSAGES=zh_CN.UTF-8，还是无法调出输入法，且本是中文界面的程序则显示为方框

scim-tables-0.5.8p3 input method data tables for scim

xfce4在OpenBsd上用着怎样，没在这上面用过，另外怎么装。

把 exec fvwm -f /home/sun/.fvwm/fvwmrc 这行放到~/.xinitrc文件最后。

正解，按这样做搞定，可以不用设LC＿TYPE而使用SCIM

不过还是要将LC＿CTYPE设成en_US.UTF-8的，如果不设的话xterm没法显示中文。

Xfce4在OpenBSD上效果很不错，感官上比KDE和GNOME好看

scim-fcitx不能用，我只好用scim-pinying

我装完scim-1.4.9p9和scim-tables-0.5.8p3这两个包就可以用五笔了
当然现在新版本这两个版本号也许发生了变化。
